1. Scope and current service
This draft covers the current iOS and Android implementation of LUNEO: Walk & Trace. Workouts use local storage. Own accounts, server sync, and social feeds are not currently provided. Any future server feature will require a separate explanation of data, purposes, retention, and recipients, and an updated policy.
2. Location, routes, and workout information
With location permission, the app processes route coordinates and segments, activity type, start time, distance, duration, and pace. Steps depend on permission and supported motion sensors; calories are estimated. These support route display, history, insights, and badges. iOS uses Core Motion; no HealthKit integration was found in the reviewed implementation.
iOS supports when-in-use authorization and background location updates during a workout, subject to OS permissions and execution state. Denying location limits route recording. Denying motion permission may prevent step counts from appearing.
3. Local storage and widgets
iOS stores workouts through SwiftData; Android uses app-private SharedPreferences. Preferences, trace settings, and advertising choices are stored locally. Widgets read summary information; iOS uses a JSON snapshot in an App Group container. No upload of workout history to a Joonie Labs server was found in the current implementation.
Local storage is separate from OS backup. Android currently sets allowBackup=true. Depending on your device backup settings, app data may be included in an OS-provider backup. Platform exclusions and release settings must be confirmed before publication.
4. Photos, videos, saving, and sharing
The story editor processes photos or videos you choose through the system picker and combines them with a trace. iOS uses PhotosPicker. Selected media and generated output are processed for editing and export; saving to your library requests the relevant permission. Android sharing uses files in app cache and FileProvider.
The standard share sheet passes the output to an app you select, whose own policy then applies. Direct posting to a specific social service is not presented as a feature. Exact retention and cleanup of source media and temporary exports remain to be confirmed.
5. Maps and place-name services
iOS maps and CLGeocoder place-name lookup, and Google Maps on Android, may use provider network services. Location or map requests and technical information needed for those services may reach the provider. Local workout storage does not mean the app has no external communication. Release map configuration and provider terms require final review.
6. Google AdMob and advertising choices
LUNEO uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and UMP. Ad requests may transmit IP addresses, advertising or device identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information to Google for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. IP addresses may indicate approximate location. No code explicitly attaching recorded routes to ad requests was found in the review.
The app checks its advertising choice and UMP eligibility before requesting ads; iOS also requests ATT permission. Consent, region, OS, and SDK configuration affect ads and data processing. Refusing tracking does not stop every network transfer. Read Google's policy and SDK disclosures as well.
7. Retention, deletion, and your choices
You can delete workouts from History; repository deletion was verified. Output saved to your photo library or shared elsewhere must be deleted separately. The effects of uninstalling or clearing app data, and copies in OS backups, depend on the platform and settings.
Manage location, motion, photos, and tracking permissions in device settings, and advertising choices in the app and available privacy options. Refusal can limit related features. Support-message retention, advertising-provider retention and international processing, deletion procedures, and the operator contact channel need confirmation before publication.
8. Operator, contact, and policy changes
The brand is Joonie Labs. The operator is Joonie Labs and support/privacy inquiries can be sent to contact@joonielabs.com. The address, other legally required details, and effective date are awaiting confirmation. Changes will be described on this public page; the method and timing of notice before material changes must be confirmed. No login is required to read it.
